About The Role

Role Location- Sydney NSW
Role Type- Fixed Term

The Senior Business Analyst is to work with project team members to analyse and synthesise information, understand the organisational context and complete business analysis activities, and ultimately elicit, document and manage the requirements throughout the project end to end, and other analysis activities such as acceptance testing, process mapping, change transition, and identification of dependencies, risks and issues. Working within the stakeholder engagement framework for the project, the Business Analyst is to communicate these requirements to key stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of the project’s objectives and benefits.

This is a hands on business analysis role with practical market knowledge required across multiple asset classes (e.g. Credit, Rates, FX, Commodities). The suitable candidate will be required to work closely with a global front office business team, and act as the interface between the business and the technology project team. The Senior Business Analyst will also be required to assist the Business Project Manager and Technology Project Manager with day to day running of the project and provide regular updates for project status reporting.

The Senior Business Analysts will be responsible for-
  • Developing requirements that are fit-for-purpose, accurate, and that display an understanding of the financial implications to the program
  • Managing the requirements throughout the life of the initiatives
  • Ensuring that the delivery of new products & services from the program balances business and customer outcomes with risk considerations
  • As required, assist with activities in implementing the change and embedding BAU transition
  • Monitoring and controlling progress at a project level and provide regular reports on status
  • Identifying, monitoring, and managing project risks, issues and dependencies, and ensuring agreement to appropriate risk responses
  • Acting as a reference for team members in the application of business analysis activities and elicitation techniques

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following-
  • Understanding of Derivatives Financial Instruments is a must- FX, Commodities, Rates Derivatives.
  • Markets knowledge (e.g. Trade capture, confirmations, settlements, clearing) required and experience with Murex is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of business analysis tasks, with solid understanding of project management lifecycles, disciplines and procedures.
  • Familiar with Analytics tools such as Qlikview / QlikSense.
  • Demonstrated documentation skills (e.g. in BRD, Functional Requirements, Process Maps, Test Plans, UAT Packs)
  • Resilience with strong interpersonal, collaboration, influencing and negotiating skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with ability to act with high levels of autonomy and ownership
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with other business areas (including Technology stakeholders) and with senior management
  • Demonstrated ability to understand & analyse complex issues and propose appropriate solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
