JOB DESCRIPTION

We're REA

REA Group is one of the world's largest property and lifestyle media companies. Best known in Australia for realestate.com.au, the market leading property site in the country, we're also a fast-growing global business spanning four continents. People use our sites and apps when finding a place to rent or buy, as well as for inspiration, renovation ideas, and to better understand their neighbourhoods and the property market.

From our humble beginnings in a Melbourne garage more than 20 years ago, to a global company helping reimagine digital property experiences; we have played a key role in shaping the digital sector in Australia, especially in the talent we have nurtured and continue to develop.

Where the Consumer Experience Platform Product team fits in

The Product Manager - Consumer Profile role sits within the Consumer Experience Platform tribe part of the Product & Experience Organisation, headed up by Consumer CPO, Val Brown.

The focus of the Consumer Experience Platform tribe is to deliver amazing experiences by helping teams across REA deliver useful products to the people who use realestate.com.au website and mobile apps. We do this by developing patterns, architectures and processes that unlock efficient, scalable product delivery at all levels from user experience design, user interface and client architecture (web & native app) through to the supporting services layers (APIs) and search/publishing pipeline.

What you'll be doing

The Consumer Profile squad plays a pivotal role in the development of the user experience across realestate.com.au; developing a place for our users to find the data we've collected, and giving them the opportunity to adjust and personalise their future experiences with us.

The Product Manager - Consumer Profile supports the Consumer Experience tribe in the following ways:

  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant product strategy; translate into plans and requirements for the Consumer Profile squad
  • Collaborate with design and engineering to develop an experience vision for "Me" and associated experiences; understand and align to the realestate.com.au Product Architecture
  • Develop and maintain an up-to-date product roadmap that is aligned to OKRs
  • Participate in all Consumer Profile squad rituals, providing business context and prioritisation
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve the collection of declared user data across realestate.com.au
  • Conduct regular market scans of competitor and contemporary digital businesses
  • Actively research market trends around first party data, privacy and personalisation to inform planning
  • Participate in Consumer Experience operational meetings such as Blueprint, Showcase and Townhalls
  • Actively monitor and report on key metrics that support OKRs and measure the health of this portfolio
  • Own and report on appropriate risk controls, plan and execute compliance testing as required
  • Develop awesome relationships with key stakeholders across REA and maintain an understanding of their current plans; specifically across Consumer Experience, Financial Services and Customer Product
  • Be the internal advocate for the safe collection of user data and how it can be applied to product development

What we're looking for

  • Someone with a few scars, with 3+ years of Product Management / Product Development Management or equivalent experience
  • Experience managing sensitive datasets, privacy by design and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated understanding of how platforms can support product development
  • Proven ability to collaborate with design and engineering throughout Product Discovery
  • A working understanding of design and ux practices
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a product roadmap and the translation into business requirements
  • Someone who is very comfortable working with technical teams, understands software engineering and can help to translate technical opportunities to business stakeholders
  • Proven expertise in new concept development and high-level technical solution design
  • Business, Commerce or Technical degree, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Looks at tricky situations through a solutions-focused lens
  • Work productively in a fast paced and agile environment - #gsd

But we don't just look for someone based on their skills and expertise. It's our connection, acceptance and genuine care for each other that makes REA a great place to work. That means you also need to be:

  • Savvy minded and have the ability to think a little left of field / outside the box.
  • A strong and creative communicator.
  • Friendly, approachable and have good relationship management skills.
  • An avid supporter of our fully inclusive culture - we celebrate difference and ensure that everyone belongs.

The Values we live by

How we do our work is equally important as what we do. You'll feel it as soon as you join the REA family, our values role modelled by our leaders, lived by our people and felt by our customers, consumers and communities. We are looking for someone who can:

  • Re-imagine it
  • Own it
  • Do it with heart
  • Inspire it
  • Do it as a team
  • Keep it real

We encourage our people to find ways to deliberately practice these values in how you show up and how you go about what you do every day

What We Offer

We want every REA-er to feel at home and do their best work with us, so the above values are what we aim to live by.

At REA we have an inclusive and diverse culture.

We encourage and are big advocates to learning - we have our own REA-University and run regular HACK Days where everyone is encouraged to participate. We champion flexible and remote working, and we offer one of Australia's most progressive parental leave programs.

If you think you have what it takes, but don't necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still get in touch. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit.
