An opportunity currently exists for a motivated and results-driven individual to join the City Plan unit as a Forward Works Planner.

The Role

This role will see you working as a key member of the City Plan Unit where you will support the Forward Works Team in planning and developing Council’s forward capital works program, including stakeholder engagement.

The role will be responsible for coordinating resources for the development of the Stormwater Levy and Development Contributions (s7.11/s7.12) forward works plans.

This position will also require participation in multi-disciplinary teams from across Council and managing individual projects requiring consultation and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders.

The opportunity of offered on a Temporary Full Time basis (up to May 2022)

Your duties in this role will include:

  • Manage Stormwater Levy and Development Contributions (s7.11/s7.12) funding

  • Liaise with key staff to develop long-term works plans

  • Prioritise works across Council under the relevant programs

  • Develop methods for capturing, monitoring and measuring Stormwater Levy and Development Contributions (s7.11/s7.12) outcomes

  • Administration management - including responding to enquiries exemption requests

  • Collate, analyse and present information on outcomes and expenditure

  • Co-ordinate, organise and allocate resources for the development of forward works programs

  • Prepare applications for grant funding relating to capital works projects, including liaison with stakeholders, and overseeing project delivery and reporting requirements

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Economics, Urban Planning, Social Policy, Environmental Planning, or related discipline and / or relevant experience

  • An ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Experience in developing strategic plans or policies

  • A high level of written and verbal communication skills

  • An ability to make decisions and use judgement/problem-solving skills

  • Excellent Multi - tasking and time management skills

  • A high level of computer literacy

  • A current Class C Drivers licence

The salary range for this opportunity commences at $80,743 (Grade G, Step1) + 9.5% super
