The Role

Spotless is the lead contractor to provide Estate Maintenance and Operation Services (EMOS) to the Department of Defence in Queensland and Southern New South Wales. As lead contractor within the region we deliver a suite of services to support Defence capability.

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced, hands-on Land Management Co-ordinator based in Canberra. Your capacity to build productive relationships with the client and the customer and to provide exemplary customer service is of the utmost importance, with professionalism in your conduct and communication expected at all times.

The Land Management Co-ordinator has overall responsibility for the delivery of grounds maintenance, land conservation and natural resource management services. Reporting to the EMOS Operations Manager, this full-time position is responsible for the delivery of a range of services, including but not limited to:

  • Develop, implement and monitor Land Management Plans and work schedules;
  • Demonstrate a detailed understanding of contractual, legislative and operational technical requirements;
  • Ensure high-risk areas are maintained in accordance with the LMPs comprising fire trails, fire tracks, and explosive ordinance precincts/explosive compounds;
  • Provide strong leadership, motivation and direction to the Land Management team to ensure the team is customer focused and delivering superior service to all Defence members;
  • Maintain responsibility for Work, Health and Safety (WHS) implications, ensuring works are planned and executed in accordance with Spotless and Defence policies;

Skills and Experience

  • Suitability for Defence security clearance (Australian Citizenship Mandatory)
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Current unrestricted Drivers Licence
  • Hands on grounds maintenance and land management experience in a similar environment with a solid grounding in people management and exposure to field estimating
  • Well-developed IT skills, general understanding of industry terminology, sound literacy and numerically very strong.
  • The ability to relate to people at all levels, handle conflict and manage confrontation, think on their feet, make sound judgements, work under pressure, handle multiple and competing demands and positively influence managers, peers and subordinates.
  • The successful candidates will possess a strong work ethic, achieve highest level of safety, quality of work and have a genuine passion for excellent customer service.

Background in natural resources, ecology or Horticulture/Land Management advantageous.
