Located 38 kilometres south of Mackay, Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal Pty Ltd operates with a name plate capacity of 85 million tonnes per annum exporting coal from Central Queensland to ports around the world. This wouldn’t be possible without great people - people just like you.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced People and Culture Officer to join our team. People and Culture Officers work closely with all members of the dynamic People and Culture team to provide support across learning and development, human resources and project activities.

This role is responsible for ensuring we achieve our operational and statutory learning and development objectives through a customer centred and proactive approach. This will be undertaken through the efficient scheduling, coordination and evaluation of identified learning and development activities to support our workforce.

While the focus of this role is coordination of learning and development activities, you will also support other People and Culture Officers with the coordination of contractor inductions, recruitment activities and project initiatives where required.

The successful applicant will have well-developed written and oral communication skills including the ability to engage with customers at all levels of an organisation. Strong attention to detail, along with time management and prioritisation skills are also paramount.

Ideally, you will also have:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety in relation to regulatory training
  • Proficient use of business technology (Microsoft Office Suite, learning management systems, human resource information systems, etc)
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within a heavy industry environment would be advantageous
  • Experience with recruitment support activities is advantageous, but not essential
