JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking Domestic and Family Violence Case Managers! The Domestic and Family Violence Service provides case management services to women and children both in a secure refuge environment as well as through mobile outreach services across the Brisbane region. These new four day per week, permanent roles are due to service expansion and will join a contemporary, innovative and professional team. Two days are never the same in our service but one thing that doesn’t change is the support and care we provide to each other and the intrinsic rewards from sharing the journeys of our women and children clients. Let’s talk about the roles:

The part-time Domestic and Family Violence Case Manager will be responsible to:

  • Work with women, children and young people who have experienced domestic and family violence;
  • Identify and assess risk and needs for women and children using an evidence based risk assessment framework;
  • Deliver co-ordinated case management services working collaboratively as a team and with external stakeholders;
  • Support women and children to obtain safe, long-term, sustainable housing;
  • Participate in the delivery and evaluation of activities, groups and programs responsive to the needs of women and children;
  • Advocate for and empower women to access the services they need for themselves and their children;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the team, Lutheran Services, other stakeholders and networks
  • Participate in an after hours on-call roster.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Degree level qualifications in social work, social or behavioural sciences
  • Significant case management experience working with vulnerable women and children within community services settings, ideally domestic and family violence and/or family services or child safety sectors
  • Previous experience conducting risk and needs assessments with women and children
  • A willingness to work with children as individual clients in their own right
  • The ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
  • The ability to contribute to a positive team culture including excellent interpersonal skills
  • This position requires maintenance of a positive Working with Children (Blue Card) check and current Australian Driver’s License.
