Exciting opportunity for an administration professional to join a locally owned and operated electrical contractor, who are in high demand due to their high quality and workmanship. This position is an immediate start.

The Role

You will enjoy working in professional and relaxed environment, reporting to the Managing Director. Your working week will be Monday through to Friday 08.30 am till 4.30.

This diverse and challenging role will give you the opportunity to stamp your individual mark on the position, including quality of service, standards and safety. There is also a high degree of autonomy within this role, as the Managing Director and trades personnel are mainly working on sites during the day.

You will be responsible for the professional and efficient management of visitors, telephone enquiries and messages, as well as a variety of clerical and accounts duties to support the Managing Director.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing overall administrative support including contract administration, scheduling, development of process, client and supplier liaison as well as supporting the Managing Director, Project Managers and staff.
  • Must have experience with SimPro or similar software
  • Reception and office duties including answering phone, data entry, administrative task to manning the office
  • Investigating new opportunities such as tender applications, training courses, award applications and business grant applications
  • HR duties including drafting job advertisements, hiring of new staff, managing paperwork and conducting interviews
  • WHS duties including drafting Toolbox Talks, following up safety issues, ensuring Hazard & Incident forms are completed and processed accordingly, implementing new safety practices and checking resources
  • Updating and creating policies, processes and procedures.
  • Support bookkeeper with data entry into Xero

Essential Skills and Traits

  • Experience in office management within trade industry
  • Strong background in scheduling
  • Proficient with SimPro and Microsoft Office 365
  • Experience in XERO is desirable but not required
  • Computer savvy and strong research capabilities
  • Able to multitask and stay calm under pressure
  • High command of the English language verbally and written
  • Contract and Project Management experience would be highly regarded
  • Friendly attitude with excellent customer service skills
  • Professional but easy going
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
