The Role

Our highly specialised in-house Investment Strategy team are looking for a

Quantitative Developer

to join them on a permanent basis.

Reporting through to the Portfolio Manager – Quantitative Solutions, this role

require you to develop and operate quantitative tools that enable and enhance the investment process. Working alongside investment professionals, you will create robust and re-usable technology solutions that systemise investment models, concepts and prototypes. The role will be part of a new capability within the Investment Strategy team and will develop quantitative solutions to execute the investment strategy.

This strategic nature of the capability means that there is a focus on developing collaborative and constructive relationships with senior investment professionals that enable them to leverage new technologies as well as further developing their ability to construct quantitative models.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
Development and operation of technology solutions that enhance the asset class and whole-of-portfolio construction processes and valuation tools.

Working at all stages of the software development life cycle (business analysis, software development, testing, deployment, operations and documentation).

Analysis and data visualisation of financial markets and investment performance.

Maintaining, testing and implementation of enhancements to existing MATLAB codebase.

Willingness to work across multiple languages.

Assisting with data validation, database management and maintenance.

Educating investment professionals on software development practices.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

The ideal

Quantitative Developer

will demonstrate some or most of the below:
A relevant qualification in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, Engineering or Applied Science)

Well-developed analytical ability to analyse, interpret and

Ability to develop and implement technology solutions that enhance the investment process utilising best practice approaches, for example utilising databases and strong programming skills in Matlab or Python

Applicable knowledge in use of optimisation techniques, quantitative models and spreadsheet

Have acquired or are acquiring a post graduate qualification in a relevant discipline. E.g. CIPM, CFA, MBA, PhD

Strong programming skills and experience developing mathematical models in a higher order language
