About the Role:

IPA have a position available for a Business Procurement Partner (Procurement/Logistics/Supply Chain) to work within the Contracts and Tenders department for our client.

The role is 35hours Monday - Friday, with a 2-year placement currently available.

This position has the following responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • To provide effective support to Council's procurement function as a contract management and procurement specialist
  • Partner with departments regarding their procurement requirements to align their business objectives with procurement compliance and best practice sourcing strategies.
  • Complete contract and tender documents
  • Draft tender advertisements and participate in the tender opening/close tasks.
  • Responsible for the tender evaluation processes and documentation, including probity and procedural compliance.
  • Effectively establish and implement contracts in accordance with Legislation, Council policy and best practice procurement.
  • Ensure the safe custody of source documentation for project acquittal and auditing purposes.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of customer relationships.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated high level of knowledge and experience in end-to-end procurement and contract management processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of legislation, legal obligations and Local Government process relating to procurement practices.
  • Demonstrated high level of negotiation skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
  • Proven commitment to continuous improvement, proactively identifying and analysing opportunities to improve outcomes and performance for a diverse range of business units.
  • Highly developed level of oral and written communication skills
  • Tertiary qualifications (AQF level 5 or above) in a procurement related discipline and/or a minimum of 5 years' experience in tendering processes, contract implementation, negotiations and whole-of-life contract management.

A C Class Driver's Licence is required.
