In Australia, our Energy Minerals business is a leading provider of coal testing, analysis and expert advice and we are currently looking for Coal Technicians to join our Paget operations. We are seeking candidates who are looking for an exciting career change to work with a Global leader for quality and integrity in a full-time role based in Paget, QLD.

Job Description

Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:

  • Accurately conduct physical coal sampling and testing analysis of routine samples.
  • Receipting, recording, sorting and storing coal samples as required
  • Operation of analytical and manual preparation equipment
  • Compliance with analytical methods, procedures and SGS Quality Systems


Whist we don’t require any previous coal experience, we are looking for candidates who come from a fast-paced background. The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • A valid driver’s licence and reliable transport (essential to this role)
  • Ability to work shift work and rosters
  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to work in a team environment
  • The ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen
  • Previous coal sampling and testing experience (highly regarded)
  • CBM, S11 (highly regarded)
