This role involves providing high level Account Management service to clients & assist in growing the business through developing relationships with potential customers.

Client Details

Our client is a well established Freight forwarding company operating locally in Australia for over 10 years. They handle all aspects of Sea and Air Logistics including import and exports. Customs clearance and transportation. Tailoring solutions to fit various clientele, spanning over 20 countries, safely delivering their cargo by air, sea, rail and door to door.


You will be the single point of contact for your clients, and responsible for all client facing activities, which includes quotations, order management, bookings, resolution of service issues, providing and analysing reports and running business reviews and attending client meetings as needed, all the while ensuring the best customer service and account management experience for your customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing a variety of Customers from Small to Large Clients
  • Focus on relationship development, building a rapport with clients were necessary and other key stakeholders to develop strong customer relationships
  • First point of contact for escalated customer enquiries and query resolution
  • Liaising with overseas offices, internal departments, vendors and clients
  • Work closely with management team to develop, maintain & report on sales & KPI / service levels
  • Monitor and adhere to Service Level Agreements
  • Analyse and report important trends and issues to internal and external contacts around agreed KPI's
  • Implementing new customers into the system
  • Setting up and generating reports as requested and per Service levels
  • Problem solving and generating process improvements where required
  • Identifying new business opportunity to generate organic growth within existing and also, new clientele


Attributes and skills for the role:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an Operations and Sales/ Customer Service role or currently in an Account Management role that involves customer interaction within the Freight Forwarding sector.
  • CargoWise experience preferred (Auto rating / Order Manager modules)
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Superior time management, ability to prioritise and multi-task to handle multiple tasks and clients at once
  • Able to efficiently prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Strong administration and PC skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Customer service focused with the ability to lead & influence
  • Advanced motivational and negotiation skills
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, whilst being flexible enough to adapt to changing circumstances
  • Positive and proactive attitude and approach to achieving the best outcomes and results for the clients and company
