Our client has been providing services to people living with a disability in Adelaide for over 20 years.
We are seeking a super star Registered Nurse or Relevant Degree Qualified Health Professional who has a genuine desire to manage one of South Australia’s most impressive community disability supported accommodation and to lead a team of talented and committed individuals to provide a superior level of care to our clients. You will be a Registered Nurse/Relevant Health Professional who understands the importance of strong communication skills and possesses the natural ability to lead and engage a team of Registered Nurses and Support Workers. Ideally, you will also have relevant experience working with a variety of physical disabilities and understand the complexities of the role and challenges faced by your team. Additionally, you will possess the genuine desire to engage in a team environment in order to support our clients and build a sustainable career.
To be successful in this role you must have the following:
  • Degree in Nursing and current AHPRA Registration/Relevant Health Degree & Registration
  • 4-5 years Post Graduate experience
  • Experience in an acute care setting
  • Experience in a community setting
  • An understanding of the needs associated with Spinal Cord Injury and Brain Injury
  • A working knowledge of supporting individuals who have airway management requirements
  • An appreciation of Positive Behaviour Support Plans and SACAT orders
  • Strong commitment to evidenced based policy and procedure.
  • Current Manual Handling Certificate
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • DHS Clearances Disability/NDIS Workers check & DHS Working With Children check

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • In collaboration with the General Manager – Clinical Services and Clinical Nurse Educator, ensure adherence by staff with evidenced based clinical policy and procedure
  • Assist in carrying out audits and compiling reports to evidence compliance policy and procedure
  • Liaising with external agencies, e.g., Insurers and Funders, assisting the Client Service Team in On-Boarding new clients. Liaising with external agencies to maintain service delivery to existing clients
  • Develop, review and maintain service improvements across The Gums accommodation
  • Meet all NDIS quality and safeguard requirements
  • Collaboration with all accommodation managers and team leaders, continually monitoring the efficiency and effectiveness of service provision delivered within their properties
  • Providing adequate training and supervision to all support staff to maintain a high standard of care that meets competency-based assessments
  • Oversight and supervision of all staff rosters to meet roster of care obligations and funding allocations for individual clients
  • Regular review of existing rosters and providing recommendations for improvements for support worker and client satisfaction
