Hours per week: Up to 38 hours per week

Position Grade: Registered Nurse Year 1 to Year 8

Salary: 64,377.92 - $90,394.15

Department Name: Acute Aged Care / Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) - Xavier 9 North

Position Summary:

Multiple vacancies exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Registered Nurse with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care.The successful RN (s) will become part of our three tier team nursing providing high quality multidisciplinary care to our elderly. Our service comprises 24 bed acute aged care & 10 bed MAU.

Successful applicants will be given a comprehensive orientation program, along with ongoing professional development opportunities. Xavier 9 North will provide you with the opportunity to develop expert Aged Care Skills which you are able to utilise in all nursing areas.

Rotating Roster 7 days a week.

Selection Criteria

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
  • Registered Nurse (Division 1), with AHPRA and applicants with recent extensive Australian experience in an acute health care setting preferred or should have completed the minimum equivalent of a new graduate program in an acute hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills as well as an ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • A commitment to excellence in nursing practice and continuing professional development, including an understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements of the Registered Nurse.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of information technology systems.
  • An understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), work health & safety, infection control, manual handling and continuous quality improvement principles.
  • Immunisation history complies with NSW Health Policy directive PD2020_017
  • Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads.
