We're still growing our local offering, and we're looking for a creative, commercial, experienced litigation lawyer to help us scope, project manage, create and deliver new resources for the Dispute Resolution area.

About Practical Law

Practical Law empowers law firms and legal departments to act with confidence by relying on up-to-date practical guides, precedents, and legal updates that help them navigate their way through legal issues and focus their deeper research. Practical Law's content is created by a high calibre team comprised of ex-top tier and senior in-house lawyers with substantial practising experience.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Writer in the Dispute Resolution area, you will write and develop premium content resources to be used by practising lawyers and play a key role in the ongoing success of the team.

In this highly collaborative role, and with guidance from the Head of Dispute Resolution, you will use your experience gained from legal practice to

  • Keep up-to-date with the law and monitor the latest legal, practice and market developments.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with legal practitioners in the market to ensure content remains relevant and reflects latest practices.
  • Support the sales and marketing teams to build customer relationships and participate in marketing initiatives to grow the profile of the Practical Law brand.

Key Attributes

To be successful in this role you will need to meet following requirements:
  • Admitted to practice as a lawyer in Australia, with minimum of at least 5 years PQE gained at a top-tier or highly regarded mid-tier firm, in an in-house corporate counsel role or at a relevant government department or agency.
  • Background in and career experience relating to commercial litigation and dispute resolution. Some insolvency or restructuring experience will be highly regarded.
  • The creativity to conceive and evaluate ideas and approaches.
  • An innate curiosity, interest and passion for learning about and writing on legal topics.
  • Excellent project management, research, technical, drafting and communication skills.
  • An ability to inspire and motivate people to deliver required outcomes.
