Salary: $53,807.58 - $55,996.48

Position Summary:
A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Allied Health Assistant with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient-centred care. The successful applicant(s) will be expected to be able to work across the palliative care setting at ST Vincent's Darlinghurst campus. They will be responsible for providing assistance and support to allied health staff in the delivery of allied health services to this cohort, working under the direct supervision of an allied health professional. The incumbent will be required to provide assistance I managing delegated patient care tasks, clinical support tasks and clinical administration tasks.

Selection Criteria:

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
  • Cert IV in Allied health Assistance and current unrestricted NSW Class C Driver’s License
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising Allied Health Professional.
  • Experience of independently managing an equipment loan pool.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation and principles.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications
