Do you have experience in working shifts and working outdoors? Look no further, this role could be perfect for you.

You will be part of a team that is responsible for operating assets at Melbourne Treatment Works and other major works in the STW region, including Raw Water Sources, Raw Water Storage Reservoirs, through plant processes and Distribution Service Reservoirs.

Your role will be to produce drinking water to high quality standards for our customers, in the most cost efficient and safe manner. At Severn Trent we take pride in knowing we come to work each day and help make a difference to our customers, working together with our colleagues to solve problems as soon as we can.

You will participate in an annualised hours shift team working a 24/7/365 shift rota. The shift rota gives great work/life balance and you will be rewarded with ample rest days and an annualised shift allowance in addition to your salary.

You will work alongside a dedicated maintenance team, day team, process team, Senior Technician and Area Manager using control platforms such as SCADA and PRISM to operate the works on a mixture of morning, day and night shifts. The role will include team and lone working.

In order to succeed in this role it is expected that you will have:
  • Excellent organisation skills and be efficient and capable of completing a number of tasks at once whilst working well under pressure.

  • Ability to analyse information to spot potential problems.
  • Able to follow processes and comply with policies.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Additional Information

Annualised hours shifts = 1664 contracted hour per year made up of 8 hour shifts, working Mornings, Nights, Days and standby. 90 additional reserve hours are built in and paid into your monthly wage to cover standby call outs and emergency working and sickness cover
