About The Team

Commercial Advisory Services (CAS) have end-to-end management of capital expenditure for the Woolworths Group, including frameworks, operating rhythms and forums that determine how investments are prioritised, the development of financial/valuation models which drive improved commercial outcomes for investment decisions, and the management of capital budgeting, forecasting and reporting.

About The Role

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Head of Commercial Advisory Services. Reporting to the Head of Group FP&A, the role is primarily responsible for the end-to-end management of capital expenditure for the Woolworths Group.

In this role, you will
  • Lead the capital framework for Woolworths Group, collaborating with teams across the group to ensure rigour in how investments are prioritised
  • Facilitate key forums (including Strategic Capital Forum) for review and approval of significant investments
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and finance partners to develop financial models, supporting business cases with capex greater then $3m, providing advice and recommendations on significant strategic investment decisions
  • Facilitate the Woolworths Group capital budgeting and forecasting process
  • Assess and analyse the impact of capital investment on the Group’s key financial metrics, including EBIT, ROFE and Cash Flow

About You
  • 10+ years broad commercial and financial experience
  • Proven leadership ability in a commercial role within a large complex organisation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent stakeholder management
  • Experience in preparing business cases and proposals
  • Strong analytical background, valuation and modelling skills, investment decision making
  • Extensive experience building and reviewing financial models including benefits tracking
  • Understanding of valuation theory and its practical application
  • Good understanding of Project Management methodology, Agile ways of working and Governance
