About Your Role

You will be a Commercial Manager or Lawyer that is keen to take the next step in your career. You will lead commercial outcomes, demonstrate strong business acumen and be a key influencer to help shape optimal commercial outcomes to key projects, bids and contracts entered by Thales Australia. In this role you can expect to be challenged with a broad variety of interesting work underpinned by the work that Thales does to deliver capabilities to Defence. The role will report to senior Thales management.

Amongst other things, your role will include the following,

  • Lead commercial management outcomes to ensure project delivery outcomes for key contracts is achieved
  • Be a key member of the Legal and Contracts team working in a strong and cohesive team environment
  • Work with bids and project management leaders to review commercial documents and assist response to tenders and new market opportunities
  • Review, draft and negotiate a variety of different contracts with customers and suppliers on varied on complex subject matter
  • Lead contract managers to ensure the achievement of contract reporting and notice requirements
  • Report into senior management with strong communication oral and written skills

How About You?

  • Proven experience in commercial management, or legal role, with experience from a commercial or legal background. 
  • Demonstrated ability to support the project and work in teams to deliver project outcomes.
  • Relevant degree in law, finance, accounting, commerce, business.
  • Previous Defence experience, or working with ASDEFCON highly desirable
  • Experience in different contracting methodologies, as well as understanding of intellectual property rights highly desirable
