We are currently looking for a highly experienced and strategic focussed Business Development Manager to join our team.

Reporting to the General Manager of the business, this role is responsible for driving market share by advising and supporting new and existing clients. Your ability to build positive relationships founded on trust will assist you in providing expert recommendations to our clients. You will play a critical part in all aspects of the business development process, including qualifying leads, identifying the client's needs and closing sales in a manner which contributes to a successful client outcome, and long-term client relationships.

Based in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne, this opportunity will give you amazing access to our parent company, SAGE Group, facilities including innovation hubs, digital remote operations centres, in-house manufacturing facilities, State and Territory offices in Australia.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive growth and accelerate market penetration for the technology and IIoT edge devices to the global manufacturing sector.
  • Evangelise cutting-edge technologies with a hands-on approach supported by Software and Hardware-as-a-Service commercial models in the food and beverage, general manufacturing, and other industries.
  • Work with a rapidly expanding team of commercial, marketing and engineering leaders to ideate, refine and maintain sales and marketing material to accelerate customer acquisition aligned with Industry 4.0 concepts.
  • Build and Maintain trusted relationships with Operations Managers, Continuous Improvement Specialists, Quality and Engineering teams in end user companies.
  • Contribute to the preparation, design and generation of proposals and bids.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in sales for enterprise SaaS, industrial technology, or automation systems.
  • Experience in business development or a customer relationship-oriented role with proven experience in scalable, high growth modern technology.
  • Demonstrated experience in meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong operations technology understanding.
  • Hands on experience in helping to define modern technology marketing strategies.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and negotiation skills
  • Self-driven, results oriented able to collaborate in a team environment

Key Requirements

  • Possesses a relevant degree in an appropriate field such as Science, Engineering, or associated commercial areas of study.
  • Australian drivers licence
  • Must have the right to work in Australia
