Weber currently has an opportunity for an Account Director. In this role, you will be responsible for the health of the relationship between the client and Weber - clients are their lifeblood and they work towards relationships that are mutually rewarding, respectful, flourishing, commercially robust and produce great work which makes them proud. You will have the freedom and support to define how that is achieved, to set the tone and to direct how the client’s business is managed, driving the overall strategic direction of the account, leading the development of the best work possible and optimising all revenue opportunities leading to growth of the account.

  • Grow and deepen Weber Shandwick’s relationship with clients in the healthcare by driving innovative creative solutions and by ensuring that value is added at every stage of the process
  • Shape smart, relevant proactive proposals by applying deep understanding of the client’s needs
  • Assist in the promotion of the business via public relations, advertising, networking, industry associations and awards and present as a sector expert
  • Plan and direct media relations strategy, audience insights strategy, medical education, advanced and integrated communications plans and measurement and evaluation tasks
  • Own overall responsibility for commercial success of accounts
  • Maintain strong knowledge and expertise of current laws, regulations and processes within the healthcare and communications sector including a thorough understanding the Medicines Code of Conduct and treatment pipelines
  • Provide guidance to clients on regulatory matters and comfortably manage conversations with compliance teams to ensure the successful delivery of communications strategies

Requirements

  • A depth of expertise of the Rx healthcare, pharmaceutical, biopharma and life science sector to the business
  • Your passion for the sector will manifest in you having a finger-tip understanding of current trends, insights, opportunities and challenges for your client and you’ll understand how to use that knowledge to create relevant and timely DTC and HCP strategies and tactics that are Code compliant
  • Advanced and integrated knowledge of: agency/organisation; communications industry; communication channels; communication theories; Australian politics, society and media; communications practices; clients and customers; Rx healthcare sector; and ethical practice and social responsibility
  • A demonstrated ability to convert complex scientific reports into communications strategies for multiple stakeholder groups
  • A demonstrated ability to to develop, implement and manage communications strategies from launch readiness to ongoing medical and patient education
  • Sophisticated verbal and non-verbal communication strategies for advanced and highly complex workplace negotiation
  • Confidence and responsiveness in the handling of challenges.
  • A demonstrated ability to find solutions to complex problems and determine advanced and integrated problem-solving strategies for the organisation
  • You will consistently demonstrate the leadership qualities of integrity, courage, self-awareness, agility and a respect for cognitive diversity
