JOB DESCRIPTION

Bethanie provides therapy services to our customers in residential homes and in the community. Our residential therapy team consists of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists who work collaboratively with skilled Therapy Assistants to improve the quality of life of Bethanie’s customers. The Bethanie Wellness Centres provide holistic pain management services in a group setting involving a range of therapeutic techniques. The residential therapy team is supported by a full time Therapy Services Manager and regionally based senior therapy team leaders.

We currently have an opportunity for a qualified Occupational Therapist to work on a part-time fixed-term basis to provide person focussed and evidence-based occupational therapy services for our residents.

  • 28 hours per week
  • 4 days a week
  • Fixed-term 28 June 2021 - 1 August 2022
  • Based at Bethanie Waters located in Rockingham / Port Kennedy
  • *if you would prefer to work 35 hours a week, we could complement the role with an additional seven hour shift in our dedicated wellness centre supporting holistic pain management programs
As an Occupational Therapist as a part of Bethanie’s residential therapy team, you will:
  • Be working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team
  • Be professionally supported by therapy team leaders and colleagues
  • Complete occupational therapy & life history assessments and respond to clinical referrals
  • Partner with customers to set goals and promote meaningful engagement
  • Complete person-centred cognitive assessments to identify strengths and support needs
  • Promote functional performance through equipment and environment
  • Provide leadership and clinical guidance to a team of therapy assistants to deliver innovative therapy & lifestyle programs
  • Maintain appropriate clinical documentation using information systems
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, compliance and reporting activities
  • No requirement to complete ACFI assessments or deliver 4B pain management programs

About You
  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration
  • Experience in the planning, delivery and evaluation of therapeutic programs
  • Commitment to person centred care
  • Demonstrated workload and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting
  • Proficient with common computer systems and software and a demonstrated ability to develop skills to work proficiently with clinical information systems and databases
  • Ability to travel as required by job role
