The Position

St John of God Subiaco is a world-class 578 bed private hospital offering the highest quality medical and surgical care in a warm and welcoming environment.

We currently have opportunities for committed, suitably qualified Registered Nurses with previous experience in Anaesthetics and Anaesthetic Technicians to join the caring and dedicated team in the Theatre department.

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager our Registered Nurses and Anaesthetic Technicians are responsible for the provision of a high standard of patient care in a safe and effective manner with special regard to all types of anaesthesia.

In addition, Anaesthetic Technicians are also responsible for the maintenance of associated equipment.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated previous experience in anaesthesia, will be flexible in availability and able to participate in "on call" service.

Various fulltime, part-time and casual opportunities are on offer.

The Successful Registered Nurse Candidate Will Have

  • Knowledge and experience in the application of continuous quality improvement principles.

The Successful Anaesthetic Technician Candidate Will Have
  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Certificate IV and/or Diploma Qualification in Anaesthetic Technology
  • Demonstrated competence in a specialised function, anaesthetics, as classified by the hospital and is actively working in the specified area.
  • Demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision and in less stable conditions.
  • Obtained additional competencies relevant to the individual workplace.
  • Knowledge of standards of practice relevant to position.
  • Ability to implement the care plan/care path under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Ability to solve problems, or seek help from appropriate resources.
