About the Role

  • The Nepean Blue Mountains Family Metabolic Health Service (FMHS) is a multi-disciplinary service that sees Paediatric (KidsFit4Future Clinic), Obstetric (Obesity Prevention and Lifestyle Clinic) and Adult (Healthy Weight Clinic) patients.
  • The service sees inpatients, outpatients, and community-based members of New South Wales, with a focus on the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. They offer individual and group programmers, as well as family-based interventions across the local health district, including by use of Telehealth. They are currently involved in work with the Wentworth Primary Health Network to improve services for obesity in the community.
  • This position is responsible for the provision of allied health assistant and administrative support for the FMHS. This includes work with the physicians, physiotherapists, clinical psychologists, dietitians, administration, and nursing staff associated with the service.
  • Preferred applicants will be required to undergo a pre-employment functional assessment.

Selection Criteria to be addressed:

  1. Demonstrated administrative knowledge and experience, computer literacy and effective customer service skills
  2. Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or willingness to undertake training) with relevant patient care experience in a hospital setting
  3. Demonstrated patient manual handling skills, knowledge, and experience
  4. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  5. Ability to operate professionally and with minimal supervision but also function effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  6. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities, as delegated
  7. Demonstrated ability to contribute to a clinical service via review of service provision, practice development and/or redesign to improve services, operations, and outcomes
  8. Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel
