Liverpool Hospital is recruiting for a Sexual Health Counsellor (Social Worker Level 3, Psychologist) to complement and enhance the Sexual Health Services.

What you'll be doing

This position is responsible for providing specialist counselling services to consumers and their carers of the sexual health service on issues relating to their sexual health, sexually transmitted diseases and blood borne viruses.

The position will also participate in professional development, clinical supervision, teaching, quality activities and other relevant departmental and administrative duties.

How to Apply

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  1. Social Worker: Degree in Social Work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers Psychologist: Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and completion of a four-year sequence of accredited undergraduate study in the discipline of psychology (or equivalent completed overseas).
  2. Demonstrated extensive experience in counselling and demonstrated ability to manage complex cases in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  3. Demonstrated experience working independently in the provision of consumer focused care.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.
  5. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated computer skills.
  6. Demonstrated experience in the planning, implementing, leading and evaluating of quality improvement activities.
