JOB DESCRIPTION

The role Involves development and implementation of sports coaching principles, techniques and goals to prepare participants for their career challenges. Essential skills requirements are Certificate IV or higher, or equivalent experience in the industry. The role also requires high order maturity and professional stamina to autonomously coach at all competitive levels.

The role is full time, based in Sydney NSW requiring an immediate start. Salary offered is $58,000 to $70,000 depending on skills and experience

  • Responsible for planning, organising, and delivering an appropriate range of running and distance activities and programmes for individuals and teams
  • Analysing strengths and performance of the sport participants to develop coaching program for running and distance based on competitive levels,
  • Equipping participants and competitors to meet the expected challenges in their sporting and professional career,
  • Supervising one to one and group high intensity sessions to enhance strength and conditioning for running and distance events,
  • Implementing a range of foundational to professional knowledge and techniques to train and coach participants to their desired competition level,
  • Instructing and preparing sports participants in individual or group sessions,
  • Applying scientific methodology to motivate and enhance performance and abilities of the participants, and completing progress logs for preparedness,
  • Monitoring and reviewing sports participant’s progress, conditioning, and mental status against competition grade performance matrix and event timing,
  • Screening capabilities and mentoring running competitors to compete at their choice of level such as professional clubs, district, state and national,
  • Continually assess and improvise physical and mental abilities to achieve goals through strength, fitness and nutrition planning and strategies,
  • Leading group running and distance sessions mostly at competitive level and updating training sessions in line with latest trends and sports techniques,
  • Hiring and mentoring junior coaches on running and distance and facilitate their professional development.
