Position Description

Think Higher, Melbourne is seeking a full-time, experienced Student Counsellor /Visa processor Administrator to the Australian immigration operations in Melbourne.

  • Candidate has experience or ready to learn in dealing with various immigration processes including student, employer-sponsored migration, general skilled migration, business migration, family migration and citizenship application
  • Providing prompt and accurate guidance to a high standard on migration matters, preparing visa applications and supporting documentation across a range of visa subclasses
  • Remaining up to date with any changes to legislation and end-to-end file management
  • Must interview all clients and deal with all applications face to face and by mail to ensure that the client is suitable
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a high-volume practice and to work under pressure and in urgent circumstances either alone or as a member of a team and to take responsibility for matters and work with limited supervision
  • Confident liaising with clients from diverse backgrounds
  • Train any team members to enhance their understanding of immigration rules to help them to fulfil their roles
  • High-level time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and fluent in English
  • Assist with company marketing campaigns and participate in the events and seminars

 Skills and experience

  • A minimum of 1 – 3 years experience working in a similar role within the migration industry (preferable) but not consistent
  • Strong technical knowledge with respect to the current Australian immigration laws and policy
  • Experience working in a professional services environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to achieve organisational goals and meet targets in a timely manner
  • Strong sales and customer service techniques
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team but also autonomously cater to tight deadlines and manage conflicting priorities and client expectations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, combined with an eye for detail and accuracy
  • An energetic and creative personality, with a 'can-do' attitude
  • Work requirements: Must have full working rights in Australia
