Our Federal Gov client is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join their team for up to 2 years!

Your new company
You will be joining a Federal Government agency working to meet the needs of the growing Australian population and uses comprehensive IT Systems to support its day to day running of the organisation.

The Platforms, Integration & Data team are responsible for scoping, designing, delivering and maintaining high quality IT systems and applications to support the entire agency and partner organisations every day.

Your new role
As the DevOps Engineer, you will work to design, implement & support DevOps platform and integration solutions, business processes and automation frameworks. The DevOps Engineer will be accountable for producing efficient & high quality code / solutions for tasks assigned to them by the development lead. In addition, your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Build automated scripts, applications & processes
  • Developing the integration solutions as designed by the integration architect
  • Ensuring the solution follows integration best practices
  • Support, integrate & promote testing capabilities
  • Assist in the design and implementation of the DevOps platform tools
  • Contribute to the design and development of technical specifications of CI/CD automated pipelines
  • Ensure code and configuration artefacts are tested to a reasonable level & reusable to future projects and enhanced platform monitoring.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be an experienced DevOps Engineer with over 5 years of experience within a similar role. In addition to:
  • Experience across CI/CD build / deployment pipelines creation, maintenance and monitoring
  • Ability to understand DevOps process and use of DevOps tools
  • Automation scripting using Unix / Python
  • Experience across Cloud Migrations (AWS / Azure )
  • Database deployment and administration (Postgreql) experience
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of version controls
  • Experience with cluster deployment orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with logging and system monitoring tools (Dynatrace / Splunk)
  • Network Experience will be highly regarded

PLEASE NOTE: Australian Citizenship is required due to pre-employment checks.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will receive an initial 12 month contract with opportunity to extend for an additional 12 months.
The role does include on-call arrangements
