The Role

Toll Equipment are currently seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Fitters for our workshops in Port Hedland or Karratha, on a temp to perm basis. These are residential positions. FIFO will not be offered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a high standard of maintenance and repairs to our modern fleet of specialised heavy multi-combination vehicles, working to the highest standards in safety utilising your Trade qualifications
  • Carrying out work on Cummins and Kenworth motors
  • Remote breakdowns
  • Repairs and maintenance to our forklifts, generators and lighting towers
  • Dangerous Good handling
  • Travel to remote sites when required

Skills & Experience

  • Australian recognised tradesperson qualification - HD / HV Diesel Mechanic or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years post trade experience
  • Road Train heavy multi-combination experience (preferred)
  • Previous Cummins and/or Kenworth experience (preferred)
  • Residential Port Hedland or Karratha position - FIFO not offered
  • Current high risk work licence - forklift (desirable)
  • Current HR class driver's licence (desirable)
  • Current Dangerous Goods Licence or be able to obtain one
  • National police clearance - within 6 months old or be able to obtain one
  • Safety focused
  • Strong customer service orientation, positive attitude, good work ethic, and team participation

  • 2/1 roster - Days and Nights, 12 hour days
  • Be home every night, no away work
  • 5 weeks annual leave when made permanent
  • $500 location / housing allowance for 52 weeks a year when made permanent
  • 12 weeks long service leave after 3 years when made permanent
