What will your typical day look like?

This is an exciting career opportunity for a career focussed Senior Analyst to join our private market M&A transaction services and external audit service offering within the Deloitte Audit & Assurance business unit.

As part of the role you will and gain exposure to a range of high profile and complex accounting issues and M&A transactions including :

  • Working closely with our clients through the entire M&A lifecycle to deliver due diligence information and advice on transactions (trade sale, strategic, IPO) including related accounting and tax matters and reviewing sale and purchase agreements;
  • Support in delivery of financial statement audits for active private companies within the M&A lifecycle including private equity investee companies.
  • Our clients include Australian and International private companies, private equity firms and Government entities.

    In Audit & Assurance, our specialist accounting skills empower clients with a crystal-clear understanding of their financial position. We don’t just understand our clients’ businesses, we excavate major opportunities and identify risks beyond traditional financial reporting functions. Through constant collaboration and professional development, we turn clients’ frustration into assurance with our sophisticated and tailored advice on corporate transactions like acquisitions, divestments, recapitalisations and capital raisings.

    Enough about us, let’s talk about you.

    You will have:
    • An Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Finance, Business and/or Accounting
    • Post graduate qualification or currently studying, e.g. CA, CPA, CFA, MBA or Master’s in Applied Finance
    • Structured thinking style with focus on detail to support financial analysis required in a complex transaction
    • Exposure to or interest in the broader deal/transaction process or M&A lifecycle
    • Experience in a finance team (controllers, FP&A, etc.), audit, assurance, financial due diligence or corporate finance. External audit experience is highly regarded
    • Sound understanding of accounting principles and concepts
    • A broader perspective of potential issues encountered when managing and working in diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them; have a clear understanding of the firm’s commitment to creating a more inclusive culture
    • Leadership skills and previous experience with developing the capability of individuals, and leading teams to deliver high quality client outcomes at more senior levels
