  • The role and opportunity

    AgResearch's Digital Transformation Programme will be the optimisation vehicle. Supported by the Board of Directors and the Executive Management Team, AgResearch is embarking on a multi-year programme to define and implement a new set of lean business processes to overlay new modern information systems (ERP and CRM). To enable this, we need to build our business process analysis and design capacity and capability

    The work highlighted presents an exciting opportunity for two Senior Business Analysts to join AgResearch as we embark on an innovative journey working with some of the best in the industry! Based at our Lincoln campus in Canterbury, this is a permanent, full-time position.

  • What You Will Be Doing

    Reporting to the Information Systems Manager, the Senior Business Analyst will provide in-depth, specialist advice and support to various groups across the organisation to assist in optimising business performance. This role will be embedded as a business advisor and involve some of the following duties:-
    • Working directly with the business to identify and evaluate inefficiencies and recommend optimal business practices, system functionality and behaviour
    • Identifying, investigating and analysing business requirements, processes, procedures, value stream mapping and work practices
    • Assisting with planning of agile backlog, developing user stores and acceptance criteria
    • Using project management methodologies, principles and techniques to develop project plans and to cost, resource and manage projects
    • Eliciting business requirements and detailed high- and low-level process design
    • Creating user and training documentation and conduct formal training classes
    • Demonstrates safe workplace behaviour by taking all practicable steps to ensure own and other's safety in the workplace

  • Your ideal background
    • A Degree in IT or another relevant discipline
    • A keen attitude and motivation to work in an innovative environment
    • Ability to work autonomously while being part of a collaborative team
    • Five years experience in a Business Analyst or similar role in a corporate environment
    • LEAN/BPM process and system optimisation
    • Experienced in large system implementations (ERP/CRM)
    • Enterprise-level change, working in high-pressure, time-critical project environments
    • Working in Agile development teams following Agile methodologies
