Position Title: Podiatrist
Employment Type: Maximum-term contract
Hours per week: 16
Position Grade: Level 1/2
Salary: full-time equivalent $64,463.00 - $93,393.00 (to be pro rata) per annum

Position Summary:
A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated podiatrist with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care. The successful applicant(s) will be expected to be able to

  • Apply clinical knowledge and professional judgment when performing a wide range of complex and critical clinical tasks related to the management of foot problems and possess knowledge or a high level of broad generalist knowledge within their discipline.
  • Manage high-risk clinical cases escalating, where necessary, to senior staff in order to achieve patients’ goals.
  • Ensure all patients are assessed using clinically appropriate, evidenced based tools that involves measurable outcomes.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal direct supervision.
  • Provides clinical services to client groups and circumstances of a complex nature requiring holistic and advanced practice skills.
  • Complies with hospital policy and procedures when planning and delivering patient care.
  • Attends home visits to deliver podiatric care as required.
  • Triage all new CHSP patients
  • Participates in learning and development strategies including a structured clinical supervision program with senior podiatry staff.

Selection Criteria

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
  • Recognised degree in podiatry, current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a podiatrist and current unrestricted NSW Driver’s license
  • Demonstrated experience in provision of podiatry services including evidence based assessment, treatment and management of complex clients.
  • Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills & proficient computer literacy in MS Word, Email and an electronic medical record
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated comprehensive awareness and understanding of the complexities of working in an ambulatory and community services environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a team and commitment to own personal and professional development
