As a Business Analyst within our Claims team, you will provide strategic business analysis services to business partners within the Claims environment. Your focus will be to work closely with stakeholders to gain in-depth understanding of processes, services, roadmap, and the context in which the Claims business operates. In this role you will be key in implementing regulatory and key strategic business initiatives for Claims.

Key focus areas include creating detailed business analyses, outlining problems, opportunities and solutions for the business, leading small to medium-sized projects and assisting the Process Improvement and Automation Manager on larger and more complex projects related to the Claims Strategic roadmap.

You will leverage your strong track record in stakeholder management to successfully provide end-to-end business analysis services for the Claims Business Unit.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Determining business needs and drivers through stakeholder consultation and collaboration
  • Constructively challenging stakeholders on their needs to determine the best-fit solution and alternatives
  • Collecting & documenting requirements and processes for the relevant Business Unit teams
  • Providing input for and review the High Level Solution Design
  • Seeking review comments and sign off of relevant documentation from identified stakeholders
  • Facilitating regular requirements meetings and workshops with a variety of stakeholders both internal to TAL and third parties from Executive team, business partners, customers, operational teams and IT teams.
  • Liaison between the business and the technology function to define and document business and functional requirements
  • Mapping data between the source and target systems
  • Documenting testable requirements and support test planning when required
  • Documenting business processes and redesign processes where there is an opportunity identified to optimise the process
  • Managing customer relationships and expectations by developing a communication process to keep others up-to-date on project results
  • Facilitating project meetings and presentations to all types of diverse audiences (for example, senior stakeholders, customers and technical staff)
  • Leading or participating in multiple projects
  • Identifying, creating, and facilitating process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design at a complex level
  • Supporting the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices
  • Providing project level analysis – produce required project analysis documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, UAT plan)
  • Creating and maintaining issue logs, meeting minutes, meeting schedules, project summaries and updates.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong problem solving capability
  • Experience in Process Design and documentation
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collate and analyse process data to derive benefit outcome
  • Ability to identify root causes and discover possible solutions
  • Skilled in Microsoft Suite tools including Visio, Excel (Advance), & Power BI preferable
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, or similar discipline
  • Six sigma certification and working knowledge of project management methodology (preferred)
  • Life Insurance experience (preferred)
