About the role

The Executive Officer (EO) provides high-level support to the Vice President (Engagement) (VPE) across the portfolio’s operational and strategic activities, and will drive initiatives and projects to progress the University’s strategic agenda. The EO will also work independently to ensure the VPE is briefed on political and stakeholder matters as they develop and ensure critical information is shared in a timely manner.

The VPE is one of eight University Executive, and area of responsibility focuses on connecting the University’s research and teaching strengths with the sustainable development needs of our communities. The Office of the Vice President (Engagement) comprises two key work clusters: Office of Engagement and Strategic Projects. The Office of Engagement encompasses the five areas: Partnerships; Marketing and Communications; Digital and Design; Advancement; and Future Students.

This position is located in Lismore, in the spectacular Northern Rivers region of NSW. Lismore offers the best of an Australian lifestyle, easy access to world-class beaches and rainforests, excellent schools and calendar of sporting and cultural events. Our staff enjoy living in the urban convenience of Lismore, or commute from local villages and towns such as Bangalow, Ballina, Lennox Head and Evans Head. If the successful candidate is relocating to the area to take up this opportunity the University offers generous relocation support.

The remuneration package for this position is up to $138,275 per annum (inclusive of base salary $107,134-$118,184 per annum and 17% employer's contribution to superannuation).

About you

We are seeking interest from applicants that have a demonstrated ability to provide strategic and operational executive support at a senior level of a large organisation. Applicants must have a proven track record of driving project and initiatives, understanding of the political landscape and also strong skills in extracting key data and preparing reports and other communications for a senior executive.

Applicants should have exceptional presentation and proven high-level written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of successful engagement with political, tertiary sector and/or corporate/industry leaders.

Along with broad technology skills, candidates should also show strong technical proficiency in CRM systems.
