JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Description

At BlueScope, we create and inspire smart solutions in steel, strengthening our communities and helping build a better future. Our steel has shaped everything from hospitals and schools, bridges and stadiums to fences and homes – influencing the way we live and work, now and in the future.

The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Lysaght business in our Production team as a Team Leader. Made in Australia since 1921, Lysaght manufactures and markets steel building products that have helped shape the nation: from iconic corrugated roofing over Australian homes, to large commercial and industrial projects.

Located at our Launceston branch, this hands-on role on the afternoon-shift will see you support the business by being a collaborative team member and taking the lead with loading duties. You will also provide support to your team with their day to day duties and ensure the smooth running of the shift from an operations, logistics and production perspective.

This role runs in the afternoon shift from 2pm to 10pm.

What Will You Do?

Being in a leading role, you will be ensuring the safety of our people as well as the quality of our products. You will do this by:

  • playing a lead role in loading and unloading of trucks
  • ensuring load, load capacity and restraints are compliant
  • leading staff in an autonomous manner
  • operating a standard forklift truck
  • pick and pack products
  • machine operation and supporting the team with general tasks
  • ensuring safety and company standards and guidelines are always followed

More about you

You will be a true leader for the team to rely on and have demonstrated organisational skills. With this you will bring:

  • a commitment to safety, quality and people
  • sound interpersonal and communication skills to influence others
  • dedication to production and customer service excellence
  • ability to problem solve and deal with ambiguity
  • forklift license and experience

The BlueScope Difference

  • grow on a path of continuous learning and development
  • enjoy the sense of belonging that comes from working with people who genuinely look out for one another
