.Freyssinet has a warehouse position available for an experienced Mechanical Fitter within our Welshpool Facility. Although based in our warehouse, this position offers an exciting mix between warehouse and field work. The primary role of a Mechanical Fitter is to provide maintenance, repairs and diagnostics on various specialized engineering equipment for large civil projects whilst also maintaining the warehouse logistics, stock control and general warehouse up keep.

The list of duties:

  • Taking Receipt and recording of incoming orders
  • Storage of items, maintenance of stock levels for consumables
  • Operate within OH&S guidelines
  • Liaising with Project Managers, Site Supervisors and Supply staff
  • Packaging and issuing of equipment for project requirements
  • Maintain Workbench inventory levels
  • Carry out maintenance on civil engineering equipment
  • Perform all repairs both mechanical and electrical or alternatively arrange for it to be repaired.
  • 60% Warehouse based 40% site based

Skills needed for this position:

  • 5-10 years’ experience in similar work repairing equipment and fault finding in mechanical circuits.
  • Experience in a similar role in a warehouse environment
  • Source parts, consumables and project specific inventory
  • Understand workings of tools and ability to source correct tools for projects.
  • Experience in the mining industry (desirable)
  • Mechanical fitting and turning experience
  • Beginner/Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word and Excel)

Qualifications/ Tickets:

  • Forklift license
  • Current driver’s license
  • Mechanical Fitter qualification (or 5 + years’ experience)

The position can be flexible in hours, depending on the number of active projects.
