Are you excited by implementing strategic programs that benefit the ACT community and economy? Skills Canberra is looking for a motivated and conscientious person to join the team as Assistant Director, JobTrainer Fund.

JobTrainer is an initiative established in 2020, under agreement with the Australian Government, to provide free vocational education and training to young people aged 17-24 and job seekers in areas of employment growth following the COVID-19 crisis.

To be successful in this role you must be effective in working in a collaborative team, and in a fast paced and at times, pressured environment. You will need expertise in program development and implementation, strong strategic thinking skills, excellent written and organisational skills, and a desire to build and maintain quality relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for six months with the possibility of extension.A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. This position operates in an activity-based working (ABW) environment. Under ABW arrangements, officers do not have a designated workstation/desk. Under the current COVID-19 restrictions, our workforce is currently working from home wherever possible. The successful candidate will be provided information on how to safely and effectively work from home. A gradual return to the workplace is anticipated, including the advertised role.
