Commercial Banking is part of the Business Banking business unit that serves over 10,000 business clients in the medium and large business segment, typically with complex financial needs and turnover >$10m. The division is well placed to provide medium and large companies with access to a wide range of financial services by having 750 professionals in approx. 35 locations across Australia.

The Franchise Banking team provides specialist expertise to assist our customers with their working capital and cash flow management needs. Our team will support our national portfolio of prominent franchising customers achieve their financial goals.

Your impact

As our Analyst role you are a member of the Franchise Banking Relationship team and you will support the Relationship Executive through value add solutions. The key purpose of your role is undertake financial modelling and analysis and assess the risks/opportunities on new lending, as well as assess the risks associated with increases in client credit. You will also oversee the annual review and performance monitoring function for the portfolio to ensure strong credit hygiene practices are maintained.

You will be passionate about customer service and focused on achieving our goal of being number 1 in client satisfaction.

This is an outstanding opportunity to gain exposure to sophisticated Corporate Banking clients/deals with a strong and successful business. Your role will specifically involve;

Financial modelling and analysis relating to Business and/or Commercial Banking clients
Prepare credit submissions for new facilities, and coordination of deal execution through documentation and funding
Consistently complete due diligence and credit analysis on new and existing relationships
Manage the portfolio’s data quality, compliance and reporting requirements such as pipeline leads, calls, contacts and revenues versus plan
Performance monitoring and annual reviews for existing clients, and reporting of client financial and operational performance to Risk Management
Build and maintain effective working relationships with the dedicated Client Service Centre team, Risk Management, Global Markets, Banking Products, Asset Finance Specialists and Specialist Distribution and ensure the portfolio team deliver exceptional insights and services to its client(s)
Structure and clearly articulate the credit merits of a transaction, including identifying and mitigating key risks
Working closely with Product Specialists to meet client requirement
Deliver exceptional customer service in all dealings, as reflected in a positive lift in various survey results

What are we looking for?

We’re high performing, customer focused team and we’re looking for a strong Analyst to join the team. You are someone who is self-driven to learn, a good team player and highly adaptable within complex environments. In this team you’ll have the opportunity to gain exposure to large commercial clients and work with some of the most skilled Commercial bankers. Some of the key capabilities & experience we’re looking for are;

Highly developed research, financial analysis, excel and modelling.
Strong credit writing skills with a deep understanding of financial statements and the underlying drivers of performance.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and key stakeholders e.g. credit department, Group Lending Services etc.
Have client service experience ideally in a Commercial or Business banking environment
Strong commercial acumen and well-developed financial analysis and modelling skills
Ability to quickly grasp complex transactions, and ideally have previous 'new to bank' transactional and credit risk experience
A tertiary qualification in Business/Finance and/or Commerce would be highly regarded.
