About the Position:

WorkPac are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer for our client Rio Tinto to join their Rail Network Maintenance Teams with Signals & Systems. This role is offered as FIFO from Perth to Karratha on a 5:2:4:3 roster on an initial 6 month contract with opportunity to extend. This roster includes 52 hour weeks on day shift.
Duties will Include:

  • Assisting the Maintenance Engineering team to complete power calculations, electrical drawing updates
  • Assisting the Maintenance Engineering team with preparing Bills of Materials for remediation works
  • Management of battery and power related improvements to the Rio Tinto Rail Network including project planning and preparation of project related documentation
  • Supporting the day to day work including but not limited to, drawing amendments, internally managed improvement projects and emergency change requests
  • Identify hazards and advise on safety procedures
  • Actively monitor safe work practices to ensure adherence to procedures and standards
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering
  • This role is also open for recent University Graduates applicants
  • Previous Railway experience advantageous but not necessary
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to understand complexity
  • Sound knowledge of cost estimating techniques
  • High level of communication skills and in writing clear and concise technical reports
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence
