Our client is seeking to engage the services of a Engineering Manager to provide Engineering Support to the SEA1397 5B project.

Role requirements

  • Report progress of the EW capability installation and any risks or issues that may impact the delivery of the capability
  • Liaison with project contractors, stakeholders and ship's staff for the planning and coordination of Installation work to be carried out and review and advise on delivered documents to support the work being conducted.
  • Provide engineering guidance and advice as well as technical support to program stakeholders as required. This may include participation in stakeholder meetings to provide the technical advice and project progress updates. This may also include participation in Configuration Control Boards.
  • Provide oversight of contractor work to ensure that the standard of work meets Commonwealth requirements.
  • Become conversant with the SPO and Platform policies and procedures for engineering change management and then create the necessary engineering change documents to achieve acceptance of installed systems and approvals of the engineering changes.
  • Review and provide feedback on contract deliverables that are pertinent to the installation of EW capability components.
  • Receipt and distribute to the contractors or ship's staff any Government Furnished Equipment or Data, ensuring that equipment is serviceable and complete prior to passing to the contractor.
  • Participate in the production of survey and quote documents to support the installation and integration of EW capability.
  • Act as Commonwealth witness to any organised test events.
  • Act as Project SEA1397-5B representative at contractor/stakeholder meetings and any engineering working groups related to Nulka.
  • Motivate and mentor developing engineers, aligning complementary skills and allocate resources in a manner that delivers results.
  • Act as a Design Authority Representative and developing associated engineering documentation for Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) and Requests for Variance (RFV).
  • Contribute to the development of the SEA 1397 Ph 5B Project Risk and Issue Assessments and Safety Case Reports.
  • Any additional duties as directed by the SEA1397-5B Project Manager or Engineering Manager.
