AFL SportsReady, in conjunction with host employer, Certis Security currently has an exciting position available for someone wanting to pursue a career in Work Health and Safety.

As the successful applicant, you will:
  • Be employed by AFL SportsReady, as part of our Warumilang program.

  • Study for an accredited qualification: Certificate IV in WHS
Certis Security Australia and its operating companies SNP Security and BRI Security is one of Australia’s leading security service providers with over 3,000 employees nationwide. As part of the Certis Group, SNP Security and BRI Security deliver integrated security and WHS solutions including operations technology, aviation, front-line and concierge security services to clients.

With support from the HSE Manager, the primary purpose of the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Trainee is to contribute to the safe work environment of Certis clients. The HSE Trainee will achieve this through promoting a safe workplace culture, leading HSE awareness to reduce the number of incidents & injuries and ensure the safety management system is developed, implemented and maintained.

Under guidance from the HSE Manager, a day in the life of a HSE Trainee may involve visiting a client site to conduct a HSE induction program, or assisting with workplace audits and risk assessments.

This opportunity would suit an individual who is interesting in starting a career in Work Health and Safety, working with an industry-leading company.

Standard Monday - Friday working hours are required including study time provided for completion of the Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety. This is a full-time, 18 month traineeship opportunity.

  • Administration; maintain accurate records and filing systems
  • Client and customer relations
  • Assist HSE Manager to conduct HSE induction programs with clients
  • Assist HSE Manager to conduct workplace audits and risk assessments
  • Keep up-to-date with developments in HSE field including legislation, regulations, guidelines & best practice
  • Assist in the evaluation of auditing and incident investigation procedures

As the successful candidate, you will receive:
$21,500 - $30,000+9.5 % Superannuation

People with tertiary qualifications need not apply. Current university applicants may have to defer their studies to be eligible for this traineeship.
