The School is seeking to appoint a Risk and Compliance Manager (RCM) who will be responsible for the overall design, implementation, maintenance and review of the School's risk and compliance framework.

About the Role

The Risk and Compliance Manager (RCM) is responsible for the overall design, implementation, maintenance and review of the School’s risk and compliance framework, processes and systems including the leadership of occupational health and safety (OHS) within the School. The position is responsible for creating a positive risk and compliance culture and ensuring the School’s regulatory obligations are met.

The position works in conjunction with the Director of Business and provides specialist advice to the Head of School, School Board, Executive Leadership Team and Human Resources to ensure the School’s risk, OHS and compliance objectives are carried out in accordance with current legislation and sector best practice. The Risk and Compliance Manager will undertake the administrative, practical and hands-on work elements.

Specialist knowledge of best practice workplace health and safety and enterprise risk management (ERM), as well as relevant supporting software programs is essential for success.

About You

Skills / Knowledge Required

Strong background in risk and compliance roles, with significant prior experience in similar positions.
Demonstrated experience in implementing an enterprise risk and compliance management framework for an organisation.
Excellent knowledge of ACT OHS legislation and best practice.
A sound understanding of the education sector, and the risks and hazards associated with school settings.
A sound understanding of child safety standards, legislation and applications within an educational setting.
High level literacy and numeracy skills, including the ability to analyse and interpret complex data and produce reports that are visually appealing, easy to read and understand, and effective in achieving their intended purposes.
Strong attention to detail and ability to think critically.
Excellent organisational, planning and time-management skills.
Advanced MS Office skills, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook.
Previous experience using CompliSpace Assurance or similar software is highly favourable.
