Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS4/5 HR Payroll and Administration Officer on a contract for 3 to 6 months with potential extension.

Position Overview

Our Client is looking for great people with a demonstrated record in exercising initiative, critical thinking and judgement in the interpretation of policy and the application of practices and procedures; in providing detailed technical, professional, and/or policy advice in relation to complex problems; in applying strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills; and who have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Undertake a range of HR administration functions, including across payroll and remuneration.
Ensuring the accuracy of fortnightly pay variations ready for pay run and delegation approval.
Understand and support staff with interpreting HR enquiries, policies, and procedures
Under the guidance of your manager, assist in preparing papers, briefs, presentations and correspondence.
Partner and build effective relationships internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with projects and HR activities.
Contribute to organisational strategy and culture; and
Work in a collaborative manner as a member of a team and across the department.

Skills & Experience:
Familiarity and understanding of the APS employment conditions
Experience in APS HR Payroll
Experience in HR administration.
Public service payroll processing or equivalent payroll experience with an understanding of public service terms and conditions of employment
HR System SAP or the ability to quickly learn SAP
Good organisational and administrative skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated commitment to and ability to provide exceptional client service and work as a team member under limited supervision.

Mandatory Requirements:
The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline security clearance.
