Opportunities exist for multiple APS6 and APS5 fraud control officers in Integrity and Security Branch.

APS 6 Senior Fraud Control Officer

These positions report to either the AD Fraud Strategy or AD Fraud Risk, and under limited supervision use their subject matter expertise in fraud control, policy development, training and communications, and/or fraud risk assessment to draft and maintain key fraud governance documents and artefacts required by DVA to ensure compliance with legislation and Commonwealth policy, and/or assist program areas in conducting fraud risk assessments of complex and interconnected functions and programs.

Preferred Skills:
Have the ability to effectively liaise, negotiate and communicate with a range of stakeholders
Demonstrated experience in preparation of a variety of reports and as necessary identifying fraud risks and vulnerabilities and making recommendations to improve fraud controls
Have a good working knowledge of, relevant policies and frameworks (particularly the Commonwealth Fraud Control Framework)
Demonstrated experience in risk management [preferably within fraud]
Reporting on key findings, observations, trends and emerging risks to assist with identifying areas of potential exposure
Proactively contribute to the planning and implementation of risk priorities and projects

APS5 Fraud Control Officer

This role works to the Senior Fraud Control Officer and Assistant Director in the Fraud Risk team. Under supervision they are responsible for the day-to-day administration of the sub-section.

Preferred Skills:
Demonstrated ability to analyse information and identify risks
Hold a high level of attention to detail
Preferably experienced in risk management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Actively contribute to the planning and implementation of risk priorities and projects

Eligibility

Candidates must be Australian citizens.
Candidates must already possess or be willing and able to quickly obtain Certificate IV level qualification in fraud control.
This is a security-designated position. The successful candidate will be required to obtain an Australian national security clearance at the baseline level. Continued employment with the department requires the successful candidate to maintain a security clearance. Failure to obtain and/or loss of a security clearance at any time may lead to termination of employment.
