About our opportunities.....

Our client, a prominent Federal Government Department has approximately 60 properties across Australia ranging from 24,000sqm of office space, to laboratories and small one person offices.

The National Facilities Manager provides frontline assessment and triage of building facilities and property related tasks that are assigned via the department’s LANDesk system & the Evolve FM Corrigo helpdesk system. The role will be required to generate and analyse information reports from various information sources.

The National Facilities Manager will assist the Property team in ensuring programmed works and general maintenance of sites carried out in a manner that is consistent with good trade skills and WHS practices.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide Building Management services to the Canberra client sites – primary point of contact with landlord and Evolve FM contractors including site induction where necessary.
  • Provide facilities management services to all client sites outside of Canberra
  • Assist with review and development of Property Asset and Maintenance Plans/ Schedules
  • Review delivery and performance of downstream contractors
  • Identify gaps in services and provide effective changes
  • Attend monthly meetings
  • Generate reporting from various systems to assist property operations
  • Manage and monitor core service minor works at Canberra sites
  • Provide afterhours assistance as rostered
  • Additional activities as directed by the Manager and Assistant manager of the client Property Services Team
  • National travel will be required as requested

About you ...

Proactive with a keen eye for detail and the ability to balance multiple priorities, while possessing a can-do attitude; ideal candidates have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, building, business or other related field and/or 3-5 years’ experience in facilities, property management, hospitality or related field
  • Has experience working in FM environment
  • Knowledge of vendor management for specialized services
  • Understands and has knowledge and experience of technical aspects of property (Computer Room Air-conditioning, Chiller system, Fire Protection system, Mechanical & Electrical system, BMS system)
  • Proven capacity to understand and interpret commercial contracts
  • Strong budget management and financial analysis skills
  • A good understanding of building systems and services
  • Knowledge of Property Services Coordinated Procurement arrangements
  • Financial services knowledge
  • Knowledge of WHS requirements
  • Ability to work within and understand client management systems
  • Ability to work cohesively in a small team
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Stakeholder management – including contractors
  • Minimum Baseline Security clearance
  • Ideally the successful candidate would have a trade background in either HVAC, hydro or electrical – or 5 years work experience in similar disciplines.
