Senior Program Manager

The position of Senior Program Manager forms a part of the Jobs Victoria branch of the Employment and Inclusion group. Jobs Victoria provides services to support and connect jobseekers and employers. We offer advice and information to jobseekers and work with a network of Partners throughout the state to help people get job-ready through mentoring, training and development.

The position will work closely with funded agencies, and internal and external stakeholders, to deliver programs under Jobs Victoria. The Senior Program Manager manages a small team responsible for delivering programs supporting job-seekers to gain employment and is a senior member of the programs team.

Key accountibilites:

  • Manage a small team to develop and deliver strategic programs and initiatives for the Jobs Victoria Employment Network and other programs, through full lifecycle program management activities such as program development, planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting, and administration.
  • Manage complex programs and initiatives and develop strategic directions for the Department in relation to a range of priority areas, program issues and risks and their impact on the Victorian economy.
  • Collaborate across Branch teams, sectors, divisions, portfolios, government and other stakeholders to strategically connect programs and initiatives that support Victorian economic development. As well as initiate and maintain highly effective working relationships with other areas of the Department, industry, relevant Federal and State Government agencies, and other stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will need strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, excellent program development delivery and communication skills, demonstrated people management and leadership skills along with a good understanding of the Victorian Government's priorities for employment and job creation.
