Job Description:

The role

Cardno is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our growing APAC Water Infrastructure business. Working as part of our broader Water & Environment team, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of experienced engineers and scientists with the flexibility for this role to be based in Brisbane or out of multiple Australian office locations.

Specifically, your duties will include –

  • Project management / design management of complex Water Infrastructure projects (including design and construct) in terms of scope, budget, quality and client management.
  • Provision of specialist technical design input to clients and other team members
  • Ensuring relationships with Tier 1 contractors are managed effectively.
  • Developing independent, practical and economical solutions to problems and taking necessary action for the successful accomplishment of assigned projects
  • Applying experience and understanding of projects from concept through to detailed design to ensure successful project delivery
  • Managing a design team and leading project teams, ensuring deliverables and budgets are met in a timely manner
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior members of the team
  • Ensuring a commitment to Cardno’s core values of Safety, Integrity, People and Excellence

About you

To be successful you will display –

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related relevant degree
  • Demonstrated 12 plus years’ experience in the project/design management of treatment plant projects
  • Project management qualifications/accreditation would be highly regarded
  • Strong technical written skills are imperative as is the ability to communicate with and relate to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and be able to fully integrate from planning to construction
  • Experience in a consultancy environment would be highly regarded
  • Advanced analytical skills to determine planning issues and provide innovative solutions
  • A client service focus with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively in team environments
  • A positive and proactive attitude with the ability to get involved and lead others, whilst contributing to a vibrant team
