Organisation Overview:

AAC is a not-for-profit Aboriginal organisation and currently hold the Federal Community Development Programme (CDP) contract over two regions (Hedland and Western Desert). Our mission is to establish and maintain an environment that benefits people through the creation of culturally appropriate employment and enterprise opportunities, and the provision of education and training services throughout the Pilbara.

Due to growth and development, we are seeking a number of staff to join our team across the Pilbara. 

The Role: 

Post placement support is a critical component of our service commitment and ensures that a job seeker is retained in employment. The PPS Officer role requires the person to work closely with both the employer and job seeker to identify any barriers that may impact upon ongoing employment and address them promptly. This person will seek to
address barriers by working closely with the job seekers and their employer to tailor an effective support program which may include the identification of training requirements, immediate support services and / or counselling, or wage subsidy that may assist in ensuring the job seeker is retained in the job long term.


  • Ability to operate autonomously within set guidelines

  • Strong communication skills which contribute to an ability to engage with clients and develop relationships
  • Ability to exercise a sound degree of initiative, judgment, confidentiality, tact and discretion
  • Ability to use active listening and questioning techniques to identify goals, strengths and obstacles to employment
  • Competent in Microsoft Office with ability to grasp other IT programs/databases
  • Ability to be adaptive, collaborative, flexible and innovative in problem solving as a contributing member of a wider team
  • Demonstrated abilities in performing administrative tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Strong work ethic 
  • Able to commit Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm 


  • Current knowledge or ability to gain knowledge of labour market conditions/opportunities across the Pilbara region
  • An understanding of the cultural, political, economic and social issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in contemporary Australian society
  • Experience in working for Not for Profit organisational frameworks
  • Hold a current WA "C" class drivers license
  • Able to obtain a Working with Children Check
