Organisation Overview:

AAC is a not-for-profit Aboriginal organisation with headquarters in Tom Price, Western Australia and we currently hold the Federal Community Development Programme contract over two regions (Hedland and Western Desert). Our footprint extends across much of the vast Pilbara region. Our mission is to establish and maintain an environment that benefits people through the creation of culturally appropriate employment and enterprise opportunities, and the provision of education and training services throughout the Pilbara.

Due to growth and development, we are seeking a number of staff to join our team across the Pilbara.

The Role:

Currently we are seeking a talented person to join the team in the position of Employer Engagement Officer (EEO). The EEO's primary objective is to engage with local employers, businesses and other stakeholders to identify and source employment and work experience opportunities for our Job Seekers. The role involves being out on the road, building relationships with potential employers and providers of work experience, so you will require excellent communication and relationship building skills.

Ideally we are looking for someone with some or all of the following attributes:

  • Relationship building with business, local government and industry groups
  • Demonstrated experience or capacity to work and engage with Aboriginal people (desirable)
  • Confident with outstanding communication skills
  • Results orientated person who can work to KPI's and targets
  • Details orientated with an understanding of compliance
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Ability to be adaptive, collaborative, flexible and innovating in problem solving as a contributing member of the wider team.
  • A capacity to contribute to inter-agency working groups for enhanced client-focused service delivery

The type of person we are looking for may well have done a similar role with a Jobactive provider or some other type of employment services organisation. You may well also have experience in employer engagement through local government, not for profit or an industry association. Most importantly though, it will be your ability to share our passion for helping people reach their potential in a consultative and respectful way, that will see you succeed as an EEO.
